A Walk With Danté

Late one evening in Florida, Me and a two of my Friends were out for a walk. I had brought My male Pit Bull Danté along too. Casually walking and talking as normal just like any other day. We decided that we would take a different route down a side road that made a big circle. About half way down this side road a stray dog emerged from the woods that were to the left of us. The stray was a very shaggy tan dog his coat was matted badly and he appeared to be very hungry(his ribs were showing). We thought that the dog might not bothers us. That seemed so for a bit. Then we all realized that this stray dog was quite interested in us. One of my friends suggested that we should call animal control My other friend and I agreed. She then took out her cell phone and made the call the Man who answered the phone ask if we could wait for them at safe distance. She agreed and so we waited. At this time I turned my attention to Danté who was watching every move of the stray dog.

(Here's a Picture of Danté taken with a webcam)
As I looked up to see how close it was I noticed that the stray was in a full run headed straight for us teeth bared, and growling loudly. I can only imagine what provoked these actions, but I knew that Danté would defend us. My next move, I Believe, is the reason that none of end up in the hospital. I released Danté and then gave him the attack command. He did as he was told. By this time the dog was already about 2 foot from us. Danté stopped him in his tracks and began to attack, it was pure craziness for a few moments. I noticed that Danté had wounded the stray, so I told him to stop because I didn't think that the dog could cause any harm to us at this point. I called Danté over to me, and had my friends keep an eye on the other dog. I began to look Danté up and down searching him all over for wounds, he was bit in several places. Only one really serious bite on his back. One of my friends shouted, "Animal Control is here." I was relieved. The animal control officer got out of his truck with haste immediately caught up the stray. I Then asked him, as he was putting the dog in the truck, if he had a first aid kit, which he did. After acquiring the kit from the truck for me, I began to clean Danté's wounds. The officer needed to know what happened, so my friends told him the whole story and that they were grateful to have such a well trained dog like Danté with us. In there words, "He saved our lives." I said that he was just doing his duty by protecting us. I proceeded to call My husband to bring the car, because Danté needed a trip to the vet. He got there and I told him what had happened on the way to the vets office. By the end of the day we had Danté safe at home, resting with his wounds all patched up. I began thinking of how many people must have experienced similar situations. After a lot of research and hard work, I have started to rebuild the Pit Bulls repute. I now raise and breed my own line of Pit Bulls. They're My Pit bulls with hearts of gold. The training that I gave my dogs is available for you to learn and teach Your dog.
